CCTV images released after man suffers facial injuries in attack

Officers are looking to trace the man, who they believe can help with their enquiries into the assault.

CCTV images released after Glasgow city centre attack near Trongate Sainsbury’s left man seriously injured Police Scotland

Police have released CCTV images of man that they believe can help them following an assault in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Argyle Street, near the Sainsbury’s Local store in Trongate, at around 3.10pm on Saturday.

The 42-year-old male victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment after sustaining serious facial injuries.

Detectives have now released a CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to help with their enquiries.

He has been described as white and of slim build with short, dark hair and a trimmed beard. He was wearing a dark-coloured Hugo Boss T-shirt, a grey jumper, dark coloured shorts, and dark coloured trainers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “This man or anyone with information on this incident or who recognises the man in the images, is asked to contact detective constable Jenna Baillie at Glasgow City Centre Police Station through 101 quoting reference 2153 of July 2.

“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.”
