Two people have been left hurt after a car exploded outside a hospital in East Ayrshire.

The vehicle blast happened outside Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock around 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon.

A man and woman are currently being treated in hospital following the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries into the cause of the incident are ongoing.”

However, they added: “There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.”
