Detectives have launched an investigation after a campervan and two cars were torched outside a house in Glasgow.

The vehicles were set on fire in the city’s Ashgill Road at around 2am on Tuesday.

A number of neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution while the flames were extinguished.

Detective inspector Graham McCreadie said: “Fortunately no one was injured as a result of this fire, however this was a reckless and deliberate act and we are urging anyone with information that may assist our ongoing investigation to contact us.

“We have been carrying out enquiries and gathering CCTV from the local area to gather more information on the circumstances surrounding this incident and to trace those responsible.”
