A ten-year-old boy “presented a small knife at another pupil” at a school in Dumbarton.
Police Scotland confirmed it received a report of a ten-year-old boy presenting a small knife at another pupil while at school in the Dumbarton area on Thursday, April 25.
Officers said a police local youth engagement officer met with the children involved following the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Thursday, April 25, we received a report of a ten-year-old boy having presented a small knife at another pupil while within school in the Dumbarton area.
“Our local Youth Engagement Officer has met with the those involved, given advice and spoken to them about the dangers of such behaviour.”
A spokesperson for West Dunbartonshire Council said: “This is a matter for Police Scotland and we have stringent policies in place across all our schools to safeguard our pupils and staff.”
