A 14-year-old boy is in hospital after he was attacked by an armed gang at a school in Glasgow.

The teenager and his friends were in the grounds of St Andrew’s High School in Easterhouse, when they were approached by the group “of four or five males”, some of which had large bladed weapons.

The boy was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries to his body, during the incident around 6pm on Thursday.

Detective constable Claire Cunningham said: “The boy was playing with his friends when they were attacked by the group within the grounds of the school. He is currently recovering in hospital.

“The reason for the attack is unknown at this time and we are looking to trace four or five males who are described as all wearing dark clothing.”
