An arrest has been made after a man was taken to hospital following a “disturbance” in the city centre of Glasgow on Saturday evening.

At around 5.30pm, emergency services were called to a “disturbance” on Hope Street, and a 29-year-old man was taken to hospital.

His current condition is unknown.

Police confirmed that a 48-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

A police spokesperson said: “A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged following enquiries into a disturbance in Hope Street on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

“Officers were called to reports of a disturbance around 5.30pm.

“A 29-year-old man was injured and taken to hospital. The 48-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, September 12, 2022.”
