Two armed thieves threatened a worker with a knife during a raid at a shop in East Renfrewshire.

The 25-year-old man was working in the Premier Store on Cross Arthurlie Street, Barrhead, when the robbers entered at around 9.25am on Sunday.

The pair threatened the staff member with a blade before stealing items from the store.

Both suspects are described as being white, in their early 30s, and approximately 5ft10.

One was wearing a blue jacket with white zip, black under armour trousers and grey Air Max trainers.

The second was wearing a blue jumper with black hood, black adidas jogging bottoms with white stripes down both legs and black Nike trainers.

Constable Kirstie Black said: “This has been a terrifying ordeal for the man involved.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who has any information or any dash cam footage from the area at the time, to contact us via 101 quoting incident number 1007 of January 3, 2021, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
