Police would like to speak to a driver after a cyclist was seriously injured in North Ayrshire.
Investigating officers said the car performed a manoeuvre which caused the cyclist to break suddenly, resulting in him sustaining serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The 62-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital following the incident in Saltcoats at around 1.20pm on Thursday.
The driver did not stop at the scene.
The car was described as a small dark or black hatchback-type car.
The driver is believed to be aged between 25 and 35, and was wearing a light or white-coloured top and shorts, dark jacket and dark skip cap.
Sergeant Kevin Blackley said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
“We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of the vehicle involved and we would urge anyone with further information about the driver or the car involved to get in touch.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 101.”
