A84 closed in both directions after crash causes bridge damage

The Bridge of Teith, in Doune, Stirlingshire, is closed in both directions while bridge repair work takes place.

A part of the A84 in Stirlingshire has been closed in both directions after a serious crash caused damage to a bridge.

At 10.30pm on Wednesday, Traffic Scotland reported that the Bridge of Teith, in Doune, was closed due to a collision.

They confirmed that bridge repair work was taking place.

As of 8.14pm on Thursday, it was confirmed that the bridge remained closed.

Drivers have been urged to find alternative routes at this time.

Officers confirmed that there was no injuries in connection with the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.30pm on Wednesday, 27 September, 2023, we were called to a report of a crash on the A84 at Deanston Bridge.

“There are no reported injuries.

“The road is closed and a diversion is in place.”
