Cold snap: Ten pictures show first snowfall of 2020

Monday evening saw the first snowfall of 2020 for many areas across Scotland.

Although some commuters faced an evening of disruption on the roads, others were pleased to see the crisp, white view and were inspired to take some wintry snaps.

Up to 15cm of snow was recorded at Tulloch Bridge in Inverness-shire on Tuesday morning, and 4cm at Aboyne in Aberdeenshire.

Temperatures were low, but it certainly wasn’t the coldest night of the season.

Loch Glascarnoch reached a minimum temperature of -6.6C and elsewhere a low of -4.3C was recorded at Braemar, neither of which beat the -10.3C recorded on December 1.

The snow has yet again captured many people’s attention across the country and we received some beautiful pictures of the snowy conditions.

Here are STV Weather’s top ten photos from the past couple of days.
