Torchlit parade brings ‘river of light’ to Edinburgh streets

The annual Hogmanay tradition saw thousands of torchbearers take to the streets.

Thousands of people descended on Edinburgh on December 30 to take part in the annual torchlight procession ahead of Hogmanay.

The route, which illuminates the Royal Mile in a ‘river of light’ culminated at Holyrood Park, where torchbearers created a symbol of friendship with the flames.
