Squad of famous faces help kick-off charity football run

Rita Ora, Thierry Henry and Peter Crouch are some of the stars backing a football team's charity challenge.

A squad of famous faces are backing a boys’ football team challenge to raise money for a cancer charity. 

Ayr Boswell 2008 is raising cash for Ayrshire Cancer Support by running a virtual tour of the English Premiership stadiums. 

Rita Ora, Thierry Henry and Peter Crouch are some of the stars backing the charity run.

The team will cumulatively cover around 1035 miles in their challenge by completing a variety of individual runs across their local area. 

So far they have managed to clock up more than 430 miles, which takes them as far as Everton’s Goodison Park stadium in Liverpool.
