If you’re on the hunt for your dream job, this one really takes the biscuit.

A family-run factory in Lanark is recruiting a ‘master biscuiteer’ to head up its taste testing.

Hundreds of applicants from all over the world have applied for the position, which comes with a tasty salary of £40,000.

Crumbly creations have been coming off the production line at Border Biscuits since 1984. The factory produces almost half a million goodies a day – which they need someone to quality control.

The lucky candidate will take part in daily biscuit tasting, where staff check the product being made that day for texture, chocolate coating and, of course… taste.

The job listing is calling for those with “finely tuned tastebuds” to apply, and they’re also needed to develop new products that will put Scotland’s flavours on the global stage.

But competition is fierce – because in this business, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
