Philippe Clement and Brendan Rodgers have named their teams for the Old Firm clash at Ibrox, with Celtic captain Callum McGregor only fit enough for the bench after returning from injury.

McGregor has been back in training after an Achilles problem and Celtic hoped he could lead the team out for the crucial derby but he’s among the substitutes with Tomoki Iwata starting in midfield.

For Rangers, Ridvan Yilmaz has lost his fitness battle and Dujon Sterling starts at left-back, while Tom Lawrence comes in for Todd Cantwell.

The Glasgow rivals go into the match locked in a tight race for the Premiership title. Celtic lead the Premiership by one point but Rangers have a game in hand, which they will play against Dundee on Wednesday.

Whoever comes out on top at Ibrox will be taking a significant step towards title glory, though the sides will meet again at Celtic Park after the split.

Clement and Rodgers have named attacking sides for the clash, with some intriguing battles in store when the teams take to the pitch.

Rangers start with Jack Butland in goal and a back line of Sterling, John Souttar, Connor Goldson and James Tavernier.

John Lundstram and Mohamed Diomande anchor the midfield, with Fabio Silva, Tom Lawrence and Scott Wright playing behind striker Cyriel Dessers.

Celtic have Joe Hart in goal, with Greg Taylor, Liam Scales, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston as a back four.

Iwata, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley are in midfield, with Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn playing either side of Kyogo Furuhashi.
