Seven Celtic players have been named in the PFA Premiership team of the year but star winger Jota and forward Daizen Maeda have missed out.

The Professional Footballers Association revealed their eleven players of the season on Tuesday with two Rangers players and one each from Motherwell and Aberdeen making up the lineup.

Hoops goalkeeper Joe Hart was named between the sticks with three of his teammates in defence.

Rangers captain James Tavernier was handed the right back berth beside his Old Firm rivals Carl Starfelt, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor.

On-loan Bayern Munich man Malik Tillman was included in a three man midfield beside Reo Hatate and Celtic’s league winning captain Callum McGregor.

Premiership top scorer Kyogo Furuhashi is joined by Aberdeen’s Duk and Motherwell’s Kevin van Veen up front.

The team was picked by professionals playing in Scotland’s top flight for their performances this season.
