Jack Hendry has returned to Club Brugge following a short loan spell in Italy.

The 27-year-old Scotland defender played six games during his time with Cremonese after joining on loan, with an option to join permanently in the summer.

But the Serie A side have now decided against signing him full time and he has returned to his parent club in Belgium.

Brugge signed the former Celtic player from Oostende just two months after he joined them in a permanent deal in 2021.

Despite playing 37 games in his debut season he was sent out on loan in September last year.

Hendry, who also played for Dundee and Partick Thistle, has become a mainstay of the Scotland defence under Steve Clarke and has won 21 caps for the national side.
