Rangers have re-signed Oscar Cortes on a season long loan with an obligation to buy.
The 20-year-old Colombian winger joined the Ibrox side on loan from RC Lens in January but after a promising start his season was curtailed through injury.
He only managed seven appearances in Scotland before picking up the season ending injury in a win over Kilmarnock at the end of February.
But manager Philippe Clement has seen enough to want him back in his squad for next campaign as his summer rebuild gathers pace.
He joins Rangers initially on loan for the whole of next season before making the move permanent in the summer of 2025.
Cortes joins Brazilian left-back Jefte with Leon Balogun also handed a new deal to keep him club – with five out of contract players, including John Lundstram and Ryan Jack, leaving Ibrox.
When the signing was confirmed on Monday he said: “I am delighted to be able to stay at Rangers.
“It was an honour and privilege for me to join the club in January and I was enjoying my football under the manager and playing alongside my team-mates.
“Sadly, the injury ended my season early, but I have been working hard and I am excited to help the team and play in front of the wonderful fans again soon.”
Clement said: “I am really pleased to have Oscar coming back.
“He was a big asset to the squad when he came to the club and he showed the qualities that attracted him to us.
“Oscar suffered a setback, but he has worked tirelessly during his recovery and I am sure all of the fans are looking forward to seeing him again next season.”
