Rangers are closing in on a deal to sign FC Twente captain Robin Propper.
The 30-year-old defender, who is on Philippe Clement’s radar to replace Connor Goldson following his departure to Aris Limassol, is set for a medical at the club.
The former Netherlands under-19 international made 39 appearances for Twente last season as they finished third in the Eredivisie.
If they get the deal over the line he will be Rangers’ ninth signing of summer as Clement continues his rebuild of the squad.
This follows the recruitment of Jefte, Connor Barron, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly, Hamza Igamane, Oscar Cortes, Mohamed Diomande and Vaclav Cerny with the likes of Goldson, John Lundstram, Borna Barisic and Sam Lammers heading in the other direction.
Propper joined Twente from Heracles three years ago and has played 115 times for the club scoring 11 goals.
Rangers kick-off their Premiership campaign on Saturday with a game against Hearts at Tynecastle.
