Rangers will play Malmo or HJK Helsinki in the Champions League third qualifying round, with Celtic lining up a tie against PSV or Galatasaray if they progress.
Scotland has two representatives in the qualifying round for the elite competition with Premiership winners Rangers joined by their city rivals, who finished runners-up last season. It has been 14 years since both reached the group stage of the competition.
Rangers bid to reach that lucrative stage will begin against the winner of the Malmo v Helsinki second round tie. Steven Gerrard’s side will travel for the first leg on August 3/4 with the return match at Ibrox a week later.
Celtic have still to negotiate their second qualifying round tie against FC Midtjylland, with the first leg to be played in Glasgow on Tuesday night. If they beat the Danish side over two legs then they will face a significant step up in opposition in the third round.
