Heavy rain in Scotland and waterlogged courses caused play at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship to be abandoned on Sunday morning.

It was the second day in a row that no play was possible at the DP World Tour event held across Kingsbarns, Carnoustie and St Andrews.

The third round has now been pushed back to Monday and will be the final round.

England’s Matt Fitzpatrick holds a one-shot lead on 13 under par ahead of Scot Grant Forrest and Spaniard Nacho Elvira, with English pair Marcus Armitage and Matthew Southgate two shots further back.

In the pro-am, Fitzpatrick is in second place with mum Susan, a shot behind Julien Guerrier and Stephane Connery.
