Airdrie and Partick Thistle shared four goals in North Lanarkshire as they kicked-off their journey to the top-flight in the Premiership play-offs.
Nikolay Todorov gave the home side an early lead but Luke McBeth’s spectacular strike sparked a turnaround that was completed by Scott Robinson in the final minute of the first half.
The Diamonds then equalised in the fifth minute of the second half through Gabby McGill and both sides had chances to take an advantage into Friday night’s second leg at Firhill.
The winner of the tie will take on Raith Rovers in the next round with the team that finished second bottom of the top-flight, looking likely to be either St Johnstone or Ross County, playing the winner of that one.
It was another two draws in the Championship play-off games held on Tuesday night with Alloa and Hamilton also finishing 2-2.
Euan Henderson put Hamilton ahead at Recreation Park before Alloa fought back in the second-half with strikes from Taylor Steven and Kurtis Roberts with Kevin O’Hara grabbing the equaliser with 15 minutes left on the clock to leave the tie finely poised.
Montrose, who finished fourth in League One, held Inverness, who finished second bottom of the Championship, to a 0-0 draw at Links Park.
Elsewhere, in the League One play-offs Spartans beat Peterhead 2-1 thanks to a late penalty winner from Blair Henderson in the third minute of injury time after Paul Watson had cancelled out an earlier opener from Connor O’Keefe.
And Dumbarton beat Stirling Albion 2-1 at The Rock with goals from James Hilton and Tony Wallace. Dale Hilson was on target for the Binos.
