Pedro Martinez Losa wants his Scotland players to take lessons from their relegation to League B of the Women’s Nations League.

Scotland’s fate was sealed despite a battling 1-1 draw away to Belgium in which a fine Erin Cuthbert goal cancelled out Marie Detruyer’s opener.

Celtic striker Amy Gallacher was guilty of missing the best chance to seal a comeback victory in Leuven, while player of the match Cuthbert would come off late on after suffering a facial injury.

The draw means Scotland will be relegated from League A ahead of their final game of the inaugural competition.

They host England at Hampden Park on Tuesday night looking to pick up their first win in Group A1 with their rivals still hopeful of progressing to the finals and sealing a spot for Team GB in the women’s football at next summer’s Olympics.

“What we want is to qualify for the Euros – now we need to pick up another route,” Martinez Losa told reporters after the draw.

“We have a very young group. We have been living good moments and bad moments on and off the pitch.

“It’s a moment of learning. It’s a moment to be ready for the next challenge that’s coming up – we have to keep going. We have an important game on Tuesday. We have to recharge the batteries.”
