Kristoffer Ajer and Olivier Ntcham have both been left out of Celtic’s Champions League squad.

The Parkhead squad have registered their squad with UEFA ahead of the first leg of the qualifying tie against FC Midtjylland on Tuesday evening.

Ajer and Ntcham have been omitted from the group as speculation continues about their future at the club.

Norwegian defender Ajer has made it clear that he wants to move on this summer, having said that the club has promised to let him move and that he wants to play in a bigger league. Last week Brentford were reportedly making a bid for the 23-year-old, while he has been linked with a number of European clubs.

Ntcham’s place at Celtic has been uncertain for some time, with the French midfielder sent out on loan to Marseille last season and again expected to exit Parkhead this summer.

Either player could still be registered for the Champions League match by midnight tonight, as Celtic are permitted to make two late registrations, but their absence from the initial list is a clear indication that they will not be part of new Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

New signing Osake Urhogidhe is in the squad but fellow new arrivals Liel Abada and Kyogo Furahashi have not been included and are expected to be brought into the list for subsequent European games once settled with the club.
