'Keep believing': Elie Youan 'can't imagine' Hibs not making top-six

Elie Youan is aiming to get Hibs into the top-six and insists he and his teammates will “keep believing” as they prepare to face St Johnstone this weekend.

The Easter Road side are currently a point behind sixth placed Dundee with two fixtures left before the split.

However the Dens Park club also have a game in hand, albeit against title chasing Rangers, so Nick Montgomery’s side will need them to slip up in two of their three remaining games while also beating St Johnstone at home and Motherwell away to leapfrog them into the top half.

But Youan is confident it can be done and says when he goes to bed at night he can’t imagine a scenario that sees Hibs in the bottom half as he hailed the “quality” of the squad.

He said: “Of course with the quality we have in the team and in the changing room, we can reach (our peak over the next seven games), I know we have lost some silly points on the road, but we just focus on us and we are delighted to get back the field tomorrow against St Johnstone.

“In January when you have a couple of new players coming in to help the team, we know it is not that easy but they have done well and we are happy to have them with us.

“No we just want to achieve a top six place in our next two games before the split.

“To be honest when I go to bed at night I am not imagining, and I can’t imagine, that we won’t reach the top six.

“I came here last season and we were in the top six which was very very good, and I think if you keep believing until the last game then anything can happen, so we will just focus on getting the right results.”
