Hibs have announced the signing of Bournemouth’s Emiliano Marcondes on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 28-year-old forward has moved to Easter Road from the English Premier League with the aim of playing regular football and helping Nick Montgomery’s side climb the Premiership table.
Marcondes came through the ranks at Nordsjaelland but left Denmark for Brentford in 2018. He helped the Bees to win promotion to the English top flight, and won the Danish Superliga during a loan spell at Midtjylland before moving to Bournemouth in 2021.
Hibs boss Montgomery believes Marcondes can lift the quality of his attack and also said he was pleased to be bringing in a player he described as a specialist in dead-ball situations.
“We’re delighted to get this signing over the line,” Montgomery said.
“Emiliano is a top player and one that adds extra quality to our squad.
“A player of his ability always has a lot of interest, but through numerous conversations and him watching how we play, he has really bought into Hibs and the part he can play here in the second half of the season.
“As a player, he’s very intelligent and is a specialist from dead ball situations. We look forward to working with him for the remainder of the season.”
