Hibs have continued their summer recruitment with the signing of Australian defender Lewis Miller.

The 21-year-old joins from MacArthur FC but spent last season with Central Coat Mariners, where he impressed and was named as part of the A-League Team of the Season.

Miller has now agreed a three-year contract with HIbs, following Rocky Bushiri and Momodou Bojang in joining Lee Johnson’s squad.

The Easter Road side say they beat other Scottish sides to the signature of the Australian Under-23 international and say they have bought a player who can slot straight into the team.

Johnson said: “I’m delighted the club have managed to secure Lewis. We have secured his services amongst fierce competition from interested parties in Scotland and across the globe.

“Lewis is a real competitor in his game style and is blessed with the physical and technical attributes to seamlessly fit into the way we work.

“Credit must go to Lewis also, as he decided to join Hibs for the right reasons. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in a Hibs shirt.”

Head of recruitment, Ian Gordon, added: “A lot of work has gone into bringing Lewis to the club. He’s someone that really impressed in the A-League last season.

“This highlights our strategy of securing young, exciting talent from around the world and how we’re expanding our scouting network globally.

“The terms of this deal made it a no-brainer for us, as he has the attributes to fit into Lee Johnson’s system.”
