Alan Forrest will become Hearts’ first summer signing after agreeing a deal at Tynecastle on the expiry of his contract at Livingston.
The 25-year-old will join Robbie Neilson’s side from the West Lothian outfit on June 10 following two years at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
The former Ayr United winger netted seven times and provided four assists as Livi secured a seventh-place finish in the cinch Premiership last season.
Dundee United were also rumoured to be interested in a move for the player, but Hearts – who are guaranteed European football until Christmas either in the Europa or Europa Conference League – won the race for his signature.
He has signed a two-year deal with the Gorgie club.
Manager Robbie Neilson said: “We’re delighted to get Alan on board. We watched his performances for Livingston last season and were really impressed.
“His development over the last 18 months has been excellent, and we knew we wanted him pretty quickly.
“He’s quick, direct, and will offer a real threat going forward. We’re very pleased to have him here.”
Hearts meanwhile have tabled a “final offer” to midfielder Peter Haring in a bid to convince the Austrian to remain at the club beyond the summer.
The 30-year-old’s contract is up in a few weeks time but talks over an extension have been ongoing since March.
