The Jambos have been drawn to face Northern Irish outfit Crusaders or Rosenborg BK.
Meanwhile, city rivals Hibs will play Djurgardens or Luzern – should they progress against Inter Club d’Escaldes in the second round.
The Easter Road side face the Andorrans away from home on Thursday before the return leg in Leith on August 3.
Victory over two legs would set up a tie in Sweden or Switzerland.
Hearts will also have to wait to discover their opponents, with Crusaders hosting the Norwegians in Belfast on Thursday.
Exact dates and kick off times are yet to be revealed, but the matches will be played on Thursday August 10 and Thursday, August 17.
