Six Scotland players out of friendly as Covid precaution

Six more Scotland players will miss Wednesday’s friendly with the Netherlands as a result of John Fleck’s positive Covid test.

Che Adams, Grant Hanley, David Marshall, John McGinn, Stephen O’Donnell and Nathan Patterson all remained at the team’s Spanish training camp as the rest of the squad travelled to Portugal.

All six have had negative test results and are not self-isolating or considered close contacts to Fleck, however the SFA say they are being “extra cautious” as the players have been identified as having been in close proximity to the Sheffield United midfielder.

Fleck tested positive for the virus on Tuesday and remains in self isolation as per Spanish rules.

Steve Clarke’s men play the Netherlands in the Algarve in their first Euro 2020 warm-up game before travelling to play Luxembourg in another.

They will then kick-off their tournament with the group opener against Czech Republic at Hampden on June 14.
