Andrew Considine and Paul McGinn join Scotland squad

The Hibernian and Aberdeen defenders have been called up for two upcoming games.

Steve Clarke has called up Andrew Considine and Paul McGinn to the Scotland squad ahead of a Nations League double header.

The national side defeated Israel 5-3 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Hampden on Thursday to set up a Euro 2020 play-off final vs Serbia next month.

Aberdeen defender Considine and Hibernian right-back McGinn, brother of Aston Villa’s John McGinn, will now join up with the team to play Slovakia and Czech Republic after a host of players were lost to injury and coronavirus rules.

After the play-off win, it’s back to group stage action for Scotland as they take on Slovakia on Sunday and Czech Republic on Wednesday in a Hampden double header.

They currently have four points from their first two Nations League games and are on a six-game unbeaten run.

Considine’s Aberdeen team mate Ross McCrorie, who is captaining the under-21s against Czech Republic tonight, is also being tipped for a full call up.
