Rangers have announced that Nigerian defender Leon Balogun has left the club after his contract expired.
The 33-year-old joined the Ibrox club in the summer of 2020 from Wigan and was part of the squad to win the Scottish Premiership trophy under Steven Gerrard.
Balogun went on to sign a one-year contract extension at Ibrox, and made 65 appearances, scoring two goals.
It comes after the 33-year-old revealed a deep desire to sign a new deal, saying he had forged a strong bond with the club.
Rangers also announced that goalkeeper Andy Firth would also be departing the club.
The 25-year-old was signed in the summer of 2019 from Barrow, by then Rangers’ manager Steven Gerrard.
The club announced the news on social media, writing: “Rangers can today confirm that Leon Balogun and Andy Firth will depart the club following the expiration of their contracts.
“Everyone at Ibrox wishes Leon & Andy well for the next move in their career.”
