Former Scotland international Darren Fletcher’s sons both played in an England v Scotland youth international in Cyprus – but the twins lined up on opposite sides.
The 80-times capped midfielder now works as technical director at his former club Manchester United but his 15-year-old twin sons Jack and Tyler are both on the books at Manchester City.
Both have caught the eye and earned call-ups at youth international development but have opted for different sides of the divide and came head-to-head on Thursday.
Midfielder Tyler was selected in Scotland’s starting line-up, while Jack, who plays in his dad’s old position in the centre of the park, was in the England team.
Jack was the brother who ended up with bragging rights as England ran out 3-0 winners in the UEFA development tournament match.
The defeat was the second loss in a row for Stuart Glennie’s Scotland team after Denmark won the opening game 3-1.
The young Scots will now play Cyprus in their final tournament match on Sunday.
