Celtic are in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup after beating Dundee United 3-0 at Tannadice.

The Premiership leaders and League Cup holders booked a place at Hampden with a hard-fought win against United .

Callum McGregor put the visitors ahead after 12 minutes, collecting a short corner and hitting a powerful low show from outside the box that appeared to be deflected past Benjamin Siegrist.

Celtic doubled their lead just before the hour mark when a cross from Daizen Maeda was stopped by the United goalkeeper but he spilled the ball and Giorgos Giakoumakis pounced to stab the ball over the line.

Greek striker Giakoumakis got his second in the dying minutes when Karamoko Dembele’s deflected shot diverted into his path and he knocked it into the corner of the net.

Celtic now join Rangers, Hearts and Hibernian in the semi-final draw.
