Celtic are closing in on their fifth January signing with Australian midfielder Riley McGree set to join from MLS side Charlotte FC.
The 23-year-old spent 18 months on loan at English Championship side Birmingham City, making 30 appearances and scoring three goals.
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been a long admirer of the midfielder, having worked with him whilst Australia manager.
McGree was also part of Australia’s Olympic team at the Tokyo games last year.
The Parkhead club have beaten other clubs in the English Championship, who were keen on the midfielder.
McGree will join J-League trio Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Idegucki and Reo Hatate as well as Irish forward Johnny Kenny who joined from Sligo Rovers.
