Three first-team Celtic defenders and a trio of new signings have been left out of the club’s Champions League squad.
Maik Nawrocki and Yuki Kobayashi, who have missed the start of the season through injury, both missed out of the 25-man pool for the six group games.
Alex Bernabei, who has been second choice left-back to Greg Taylor since arriving at the club in 2022, is also a shock omission despite coming on in the 1-0 win at Ibrox last week.
New signings Kwon and Marco Tillio, who have yet to feature in a competitive game for the Hoops, will also be left at home when the Scottish champions play Feyenoord, Lazio and Atletico Madrid.
Nawrocki is the third summer recruit to miss out but Paolo Bernardo, Nat Phillips, Yang, Gustaf Lagerbielke and Odin Holm have been included.
Benjamin Siegrist has also been left out with Scott Bain taking his place as the backup goalkeeper to Joe Hart.
Stephen Welsh and Cameron Carter-Vickers have both been included despite facing up to another six weeks out with injuries, meaning they will likely miss the opening two games against Feyenoord away and home to Lazio.
Meanwhile Japanese central defender Kobayashi, who is expected to return to fitness soon, is not listed.
Every club need to have eight homegrown players in their squad and Celtic’s are Welsh, Bain, Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor, David Turnbull, James Forrest, Anthony Ralston and Michael Johnston.
