Celtic are confident of securing a deal for Croatian right back Josip Juranovic.

The Parkhead side are in talks with Legia Warsaw for the 26-year-old and the player could make the switch to Glasgow by the weekend.

Celtic have been looking for a new right back this summer after selling Jeremie Frimpong in January and then seeing Jonjoe Kenny return to Everton when his loan spell finished in May.

Speaking on Tuesday, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou acknowledged the interest in Juranovic but said that the club was looking at several options for that area of the team.

“It’s obviously an area where we definitely need some cover,” Postecoglou said. “At the moment Anthony Ralston is doing an outstanding job and I think there’s more in him to improve. But he can’t play every game.

“So it’s definitely an area we need to strengthen and it’s an area we are targeting and I’m hoping for us to add to, but to nail it down to one person, that’s not how it’s been working.”

Juranoviv began his career with Dubrava and spent five years at Hajduk Split before moving to Legia last year. The defender made his Croatia debut in 2017 and has ten international caps.
