Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been named as the Scottish Premiership Glen’s Manager of the Month for April.

Postecoglou picks up the prize for the firth time this season, and for the fourth month in a row, after a set of results that put his side on the brink of winning the title.

Celtic began the month’s league fixtures with a 2-1 victory over Rangers at Ibrox before thumping St Johnstone 7-0 at home.

Postecoglou’s side then won 2-0 at Ross County before a 1-1 home draw with Rangers left them just four points away from clinching the Premiership title.

Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said: “The fact that Ange Postecoglou has picked up each of the Glen’s monthly awards we have presented in 2022 is a testament to his side’s form since the beginning of this year, and I am sure Ange and his coaching staff will be delighted to be going into the weekend fixtures in the knowledge they are so close to reclaiming the league title.

“A run of consecutive monthly awards like this is rare in this competition, but it does highlight the dominant run of form Celtic are having at the moment, as well as the continued positive impact Ange Postecoglou and his staff around him are having at Celtic Park.

“My congratulations to Ange and his team for another superb set of results in April.”

Celtic manager Postecoglou said: “Of course it’s really pleasing that we as a group are recognised in this way again and it shows we have been working well.

“April was a really positive month for us in the League, with three huge wins and some great performances leading to our position at the top of the League.

“Yet again, my players and my backroom guys collectively have put a tremendous amount of work in and we have reaped the rewards we have deserved.

“We now look ahead to the remaining League matches and know we will need to continue these levels to get to where we want to be.”
