Celtic are moving quickly to appoint a successor for Ange Postecoglou with former manager Brendan Rodgers in the frame along with Manchester City assistant Enzo Maresca and Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen.

Postecoglou has already agreed to take over at Tottenham Hotspur with an announcement due at some point on Tuesday.

The Parkhead hierarchy are already underway with the process of finding a new manager with a shortlist of candidates being compiled.

On that list is former treble-winning boss Brendan Rodgers.

Despite leaving the club to move to Leicester in controversial circumstances, Rodgers is still held in high regards by the Celtic board.

Although it’s claimed the Northern Irishman may be looking for a break from football having lost his job at Leicester during the season.

Another name in the frame is City assistant Enzo Maresca.

The Italian coach is Pep Guardiola’s right hand man at the Etihad and has plenty of admirers within the Celtic boardroom.

Maresca was under-23 coach with City before heading to Parma for an unsuccessful short spell as manager.

He’s now back at the Premier League champions preparing for Saturday’s Champions League final.

Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen is also under consideration to replace Postecoglou.

Celtic fans will be familiar with the Norwegian after he guided Bodo/Glimt past the Scottish champions a few years ago in the Europa Conference League.

Knutsen made history by guided the Norwegian side to back to back titles, winning manager of the year three times in the process.

His style of football is similar to that of Postecoglou so could be a seamless replacement for the Aussie.

Celtic are hopeful of a quick resolution to their soon to be vacant managerial post – but will take their time to ensure they hire the right coach for the role.
