Ayr United have signed former Celtic star Aiden McGeady on a two-year-deal where he will also take up a new role.
The 37-year-old was a free agent after his contract at Hibernian came to an end at the end of last season and he has now opted to continue his playing days with the Championship club.
McGeady, who was won four league titles and has 93-caps for the Republic of Ireland, only managed 14 appearances across all competitions for the Easter Road side as his season was curtailed by a string of injury problems.
He has now made the move to Somerset Park where he will also take up the position of technical manager.
Announcing the deal on their social media accounts Ayr United said: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Aiden McGeady on a two-year-deal.
“A free agent following his departure from Hibernian, McGeady now makes the switch to Somerset Park and also takes up the role of technical manager.”
