Andy Murray has won his first major singles match since undergoing hip surgery.
The former world number one beat Yoshihito Nishioka during the first round of the US Open.
Murray came through a marathon five-setter 20 months since undergoing career-saving hip surgery.
He lost the first two sets to Nishioka, who is the Japanese world number 49.
However the Scot dug deep to grind out a 4-6 4-6 7-6 (5) 7-6 (4) 6-4 victory in four hours and 38 minutes.
