Dundee United’s goal hero from last week’s first leg victory over AZ Alkmaar has dropped to the bench for the return game in the Netherlands.

Glenn Middleton scored the only goal of the game to give Jack Ross’s men a 1-0 lead to take into the second leg on Thursday.

Jamie McGrath, who came off the bench during the win, starts this time around and Charlie Mulgrew, who missed the weekend’s defeat to Livingston returns to the starting line-up.

Jack Ross will be hoping to hold on to the lead for as long as possible in what will be a difficult game in the Europa Conference League qualifier.

Man of the match at Tannadice Steven Fletcher leads the line with Tony Watt, Dylan Levitt and McGrath giving strong attacking options if they need a goal.

Birighitti retains his place in goals behind Smith, Mulgrew, Edwards, Behich, Sibbald, Harkes, Levitt, McGrath, Watt and Fletcher.

The game at the AFAS Stadion kicks-off at 8pm.
