In case you haven’t noticed, there is quite a big football match taking place this weekend – as England face Spain in the Euros final.
And while Scotland may have crashed out of the competition, more than half of those watching TV on Wednesday night tuned in to STV to watch the Auld Enemy take on the Netherlands.
Teeing up an England v Spain final in Berlin on Sunday, the question remains – who are Scots really rooting for?
After sending our resident England fan and reporter Olly Dickinson to an Italian restaurant ahead of the Euros final three years ago, this year he was treated to some tapas to get him in the mood ahead of the match – and to see just who Scots are supporting.
With the sun shining down on Glasgow on Friday afternoon, Olly headed to Malaga Tapas Bar in the Southside of the city – where football fever is certainly in the air amongst both staff and patrons.
“Yeah, we will all be watching on Sunday, and we’re supporting Spain,” said one customer.
Her dining companion added she was supporting “whoever England are playing against”.
One staff member added: “I think [Spain] are expected to beat England but I think [England] have carried a bit of luck and might carry it into the final.”
Meanwhile on the streets of Glasgow, the ball was very much in Spain’s court, with the majority of Buchanan Street shoppers showing their sport for the Spanish side.
“I’m actually going to London, so I’m going to watch it down there and shout for Spain!” said one man.
However, a woman with two children said she said “hopefully England” would win the tournament.
But one woman refused to pick a side – by quipping “I wouldn’t watch the football if you paid me to watch the football!”
