Thousands of people have taken part in marches in Glasgow and Edinburgh as part of Pride.

Crowds gathered outside the Scottish Parliament in Scotland’s capital city, whilst around 12,000 people are estimated to have marched through Glasgow on Saturday.

It marks the first time that Glasgow’s official Pride event has taken place since before the pandemic.

The march in Glasgow proceeded from outside of Glasgow Green, through the city centre before reaching the Broomielaw near the Barclays campus, where a small selection of stalls and activities were arranged.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was also amongst organisations in attendance at the march.

Large numbers attended the Pride events despite transport disruption due to rail strikes.

Workers were joined by those attending Pride and other supporters in Glasgow as the RMT organised a picket outside Glasgow Central station.
