Hundreds of users have reported being unable to connect to the internet after an outage saw TalkTalk services brought down across Scotland.

Customers of the communication company in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Ayrshire were particularly affected.

Reports of the outage peaked at 9am on Tuesday.

Shortly before 10am, a spokesperson for TalkTalk said: “We’re aware of some service affecting issues in Scotland, our engineers are investigating as a priority.”

One customer in Stirling said: “Router connected and showing a white light, but no connection since I woke up this morning.”

Another said: “I think a lot of people are experiencing outages… Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Ayrshire.”

Just under an hour later, the company said the service was back up.

“The earlier issues affecting customers in Scotland have now been resolved,” a spokesperson said.

“Thank you for your patience during this time.”
