Scotland has recorded 2677 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Figures released by the government on Sunday also revealed that 777 people are currently in hospital after recently testing positive for the virus and 58 of those are in intensive care.

No new deaths have been recorded, however registration offices are closed at the weekend so that number could be artificially low.

A total of 29,268 tests recorded results and 9.7% of those were positive.

That represents an increase on Saturday’s figures which showed a 9.3% positivity rate.

So far, 4,338,322 people have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination, 3,937,949 have received a second dose, and 1,408,565 have received a third dose or booster.

The Scottish Government is considering expanding its vaccine passport system to cover more hospitality venues, as well as cinemas and theatres.

The final decision on extending the need for vaccine certification will be announced on Tuesday.
