Scotland has recorded 13 deaths and a drop in cases to 1604 in the last 24 hours, Nicola Sturgeon has said.
Speaking at the Scottish Government’s coronavirus briefing on Tuesday, the First Minister said 529 people are in hospital receiving treatment for the virus, with 47 people in intensive care.
Urging people to take go for their coronavirus vaccine, Sturgeon said that all adults in the Scotland had been offered their first dose appointments.
Sturgeon said that this had happened “earlier than we had initially anticipated”, as she outlined the “remarkable” level of uptake of vaccines.
As of Tuesday morning, the First Minister said around 3.9 million had received their first dose of the vaccine.
The number of adults who had their second dose also rose to two-thirds, Sturgeon said, bringing the total number to have had their second dose to around 2.9 million.
Giving the latest coronavirus statistics, Sturgeon said that there were 1604 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
