Scotland fans have reportedly been injured in a car crash near an airport in Germany.

The supporters are believed to have travelled from Edinburgh and had rented a car for the Euros.

Pictures shared by German media show two badly damaged cars following the incident close to Weeze Airport, Dusseldorf on Thursday night.

Reports have claimed that two fans are in a serious condition with five injured in total.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: “We are supporting a number of British nationals following an incident in Germany and are in contact with the local authorities.”

Thousands of Scotland fans have travelled to Germany ahead of Scotland’s first match the tournament in Munich on Friday.
