Police are carrying out inquiries after a comedian “flashed” in Holyrood in protest against gender recognition reforms.
Elaine Miller, known online as Gussie Grips, lifted up her skirt to reveal what appeared to be fake pubic hair underneath in the Scottish parliament last week.
The incident occurred shortly after the Gender Recognition Reform Bill was passed, with 86 MSPs voting in favour and 39 against.
Under the reforms, the age limit for applications for a gender recognition certificate will be lowered from 18 to 16.
Campaign groups have warned that the changes could risk the safety of women and girls, however, supporters of the changes insist it is about simplifying the process and removing hurdles within current requirements.
Footage posted to social media shows Ms Miller declaring: “If this parliament will not respect the rights of women, then you have no decency.
“And if you will not be decent, towards women who are being raped right now in jails that you are in charge of, if you will not be decent, then I will be indecent.”
Police Scotland confirmed to STV News that a probe into the incident was under way.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We have received complaints and inquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for Scottish Parliament declined to comment as it is a police incident.
