No new coronavirus deaths in Scotland for last 24 hours

There are 26 new coronavirus cases reported since Saturday but zero deaths.

No new Covid-19 deaths have been reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours.

A total of 2472 patients have died in Scotland after testing positive for coronavirus, no change on Saturday.

This marks the fifth day in June when the death total has not changed.

However, including suspected Covid fatalities the death toll is 4094.

There have been 26 coronavirus cases confirmed in the last day, taking the country’s total over the course of the pandemic to 18,156.

Numbers of people in hospital with Covid or Covid symptons fell by 32 to stand at 801, with 16 in intensive care, a rise of two.

A total of 3976 people hospitalised with cases of the virus have recovered and been able to go home since March 5.

There were 3813 tests carried out on Saturday, less than a quarter of Scotland’s daily testing capacity of 15,500, testing a total of 3442 Scots.

In the care sector, 32% of Scottish care homes (328) are currently reporting a suspected case of coronavirus.

There are four new suspected cases in care homes in the last day, taking the presumed caseload in care homes to 6456.
