John Lewis to reopen stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh

The Aberdeen branch will remain closed, the retail giant said.

Retail giant John Lewis is to reopen its stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh on July 13.

Social-distancing rules will be in place, while the number of entrances and exits have been reduced.

Protective screens have been erected at checkouts, while returned goods will be quarantined for 48 hours.

Nine UK stores are set to reopen their doors on July 13, however the Aberdeen branch will be one of 18 to remain closed.

Berangere Michel, executive director for customer service at the John Lewis Partnership, said: “We are learning as we go and tweaking our approach to give our customers and partners the best possible experience.

“Feedback from customers is that they really enjoy being able to test and try out products such as tablets, mattresses and shoes, all in a safe environment, as well as asking our expert partners for advice.”
